Our Opinion
Winter is a magical time of year, with snowflakes falling and hot cocoa warming our hearts. But as much as we love the winter wonderland outside, our cars don’t seem to share the same sentiment. The salt, slush, and grime that come along with winter roads can wreak havoc on our precious vehicles if not properly cared for. That’s why we, the staff of the parent game, have compiled a list of ten ‘cool’ tips for winter car washing.
1. Invest in a good quality car wash soap specifically designed for winter use. This will help to remove the stubborn salt and grime that builds up on your car during the winter months.
2. Use a microfiber wash mitt instead of a sponge when washing your car. Microfiber material is gentle on your car’s paint and won’t scratch the surface like a sponge can.
3. Don’t forget to clean the undercarriage of your car. This is where a lot of salt and grime build-up occurs and can lead to rust and other damage if not properly cleaned.
4. Wash your car in the shade or on a cloudy day to prevent water spots from forming. Direct sunlight can cause the soap to dry too quickly, leading to unsightly spots on your car’s paint.
5. Use a separate bucket for rinsing your wash mitt to prevent transferring dirt and grime back onto your car’s surface.
6. Dry your car with a clean microfiber towel to prevent water spots and streaks from forming.
7. Don’t forget to clean your windshield wipers! They can become caked with snow and ice, leading to streaks and reduced visibility.
8. Consider using a wax or sealant to protect your car’s paint from the harsh winter elements. This will help to maintain your car’s shine and prevent damage.
9. Make sure to clean your car’s wheels and tires as well. Salt and grime can build up here too, leading to decreased performance and unsightly buildup.
10. Finally, don’t forget to clean the interior of your car as well. Salt and snow can track into your car, leading to dirty carpets and seats. Use a good quality upholstery cleaner to keep your interior looking fresh.
With these ten ‘cool’ tips, your car will be sparkling clean and protected from the harsh winter elements. So grab your wash mitt and bucket, put on your favorite winter playlist, and show your car some love this winter season. Happy washing!
